This 1.5 hour webinar is aimed at lawyers and non-lawyers who will be supporting survivors of the 60s Scoop with their class action claims. Presenters Patricia Barkaskas (Indigenous Community Legal Clinic at the Peter A. Allard School of Law) and Caity Goerke (Atira Women’s Resource Society) will speak to the legal and social framework of the 60s Scoop and explain how to support claimants with their claim forms.

The 60s Scoop class action aims to compensate Indigenous people who were apprehended by the child welfare system and placed in non-Indigenous homes between the dates of 1951 and 1991. Claimants have until August 31, 2019 to submit their claims.
