This high-performance freestyle focused all-terrain board takes its graphic inspiration from the 1988 Sims 1625 Half Pipe. But don’t go thinking that this is just a tribute act to a bygone era. Because underneath those classic graphics you’ll find a state-of-the-art high tech snowboard that has put the fear into some of the most established high end snowboards out there. Built around a balanced blunt tip and tail twin shape, the Juice serves up all the control and feel that you could ever need, whilst at the same time delivering class leading all-terrain versatility, ensuring that whatever type of train you want to ride this board takes it all in its stride. One of the keys to the Juice’s great performance is that Sims has ignored the lure of coming up with some fancy profile and have stuck with a traditional camber. Although slightly less aggressive than normal cambers it absolutely brings the board alive, carves are rock solid, high-speed stability is breathtaking and control and response are lightning fast, and that’s all without compromising the boards freestyle feel. But it’s what’s inside the Juice that really sets it apart. As any chef will tell you, you’re only as good as the ingredients that you use and in the juice Sims really do use the very best ingredients. Heading this up is the hybrid poplar and aspen core; this delivers a lively and poppy foundation giving the Juice its stable and solid overall feel. To this Sims then add what are possibly the most complex structural layers in the industry. These are formed from +/ -45° Bi-Lite fibreglass laminates reinforced with pre-tensioned glass fibre along the length of the effective edge and Quad Carbon X bracing across the width. This powerful combination creates a level of pop and power that is absolutely off the scale making the Juice totally mind blowing to ride. Now add to the mix the RDS2 dampening system, the elastomer underfoot stabilisers and sintered P-Tex sidewalls which all work together to smooth out the ride and what you have is a high-performance, high-end board that still lets you play around the mountain just want to cruise around. Finally the high-speed sintered base finishes off this absolute gem of a board.
